A 29 year Music Industry veteran, Mike started at New York's infamous "Music Row" on 48th street and moved up the ranks to General Manager at Sam Ash Hollywood and Sam Ash Professional West Coast. He was also the CEO and founder of CPAudio Inc, a successful E-Commerce company before moving into the "Rep Business" in 2006 Mike earned "Rep of the Year" honors consecutively for the last 8 years as well as the ESP Platinum award 2011, 2012 and 2013. Mike's position includes management of Independent sales channels and key accounts. His education includes Business Management studies from Five Towns College. As co-founder of GoGo Tuners, he was able to establish the GoGo Tuners brand as one of the "TOP 5'' best selling tuners brands in the USA in 2015 and 2016 as well secure distribution in 9 countries.
In his spare time as a writer/ publisher, his music can be heard on many TV/Film networks including Showtime, HBO, NBC, Spike TV and multiple major movies.
After graduating from DePaul University School of Music, he embarked to Hollywood, CA to attend Musician’s Institute where the culmination of everything musical would continually drive him. At the time, he wanted to explore the vendor & manufacturing side of the business, as well as learn all technical aspects of amplification at Groove Tubes under the legendary Mr. Aspen Pittman.
He also worked as a roadie, guitar tech and stage hand at the House of Blues, Coachella Music Festival, & San Diego Sports arena gaining the behind the scenes experience for creating a major concert event. John has also deep knowledge of digital recording and software consulting on all aspects of building and designing recording and project studios. This included the conversion of the old Groove Tubes warehouse into a ProTools Studio with 24 channels of GT tube mic preamps, GT tube compressors, GT microphones, alongside a huge array of all the classic vintage microphones that made music history on many great albums.
John's love of playing never stops and he can be seen on many stages through out the Los Angeles music scene as lead guitarist for the original heavy metal band, NightSword, a classic metal cover band called That Metal Band, and a Zakk Wylde/ Black Label Society tribute band called Doom Crew, L.A. Chapter.
Mike is a 26 year veteran of the MI industry with a varied background that includes two decades with Sam Ash Music. Positions held there included Store General Manager, Director of Merchandising and Buyer/Product Manager. After two years as Vice President of Sales for GSM Strings, Mike started MBM, Michael Barberich Marketing, providing advertising and social media services for the MI industry.Proficient on guitar, bass, keyboards and drums and having run a sound company and recording studio Mike enjoys a well rounded base in all things MI. Mike also provides his deep knowledge of guitars as contributing editor for 20th Century Guitar Magazine.
As comfortable playing or producing in the studio as he is on the stage, Michael's varied career has afforded him the opportunity to work with many of his heroes including Steve Vai, Justin Hayward, Gary Brooker, Rod Morgenstein, Steve Howe and Cheap Trick.
